Spruce Creek Trailhead for Francies Cabin

Drive Colorado Highway 9 to the ski town of Breckenridge. In Breckenridge drive to the intersection of Main Street (HWY 9) and South Park Avenue, and note your odometer mileage. Drive south out of Breckenridge on HWY 9, at 2.3 miles from Breckenridge take a right (west) on Spruce Creek Road, which drive about a mile (bear left at intersections) to a snowplow turnaround with limited parking. The trailhead is marked with Forest Service signs. Depending on snowplow whims, you may be able to drive to an upper trailhead 3/4 mile farther up the road at 10,385', 409 596 E, 43 65 806 N. Carpool to this trailhead and be prepared to car shuttle as parking is limited.
